Overview
Built a mini bike from the ground up using a used DB30 frame and a non-running Honda GX200 engine clone sourced from Facebook Marketplace via two different sellers. The goal was to create a fast, reliable mini bike while applying and learning mechanical engineering fundamentals across 3D design/printing, metal fabrication, and troubleshooting. Work included diagnosing, repairing, and tuning the engine, implementing performance and reliability upgrades, cutting and welding the frame to extend the wheelbase, fit the larger motor, and mount new aftermarket components, and completing full cosmetic refinishing to improve aesthetics. The project concluded, as of now, with a reliable and quick accelerating small motorcycle with improved safety features to accommodate the new power.
